No doubt that this is cool, and an iterative improvement over existing e-book interfaces, but why are we so stuck on emulating (and therefore limiting our experience to) physical media on a digital device?

Well, you need to interact with the formatted test *somehow*, right? Books have worked well since we eliminated the scroll as a user interface.
